Yovav Carmi, President of the Management Board

Yovav Carmi holds in-depth knowledge of GTC’s operations and activities in the region collected through 19 years of working for the company as Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer and Member of the Management Board. Mr. Carmi leads GTC as the President of the Management Board since September 2020. He distinguishes with extensive knowledge of the European real estate market and an ability to foresee trends and take right decisions during hard times of the coronavirus pandemic.

In order to take full advantage of local markets’ opportunities, GTC strategy assumes operating on the markets of CEE capitals in Poland, Budapest, Belgrade, Bucharest, Zagreb and Sofia. Eastern European regions allow GTC to seize opportunities in improving macroeconomic and property market conditions. Each market is managed by the well-experienced local team which knows the various conditions and is aware of trends and needs. It also allows to keep effectiveness in different countries and beat up recent successes such as the sale transaction of Neptun Office Center, an A-class office building located in Gdańsk, Poland, the lease agreement signed with ExxonMobile on renting the entire Pillar office building in Budapest or receiving the LEED Platinum certification for Matrix A and B office buildings in Zagreb.

Currently, GTC actively manages a commercial real estate portfolio of 46 buildings providing nearly 750,000 sq m of lettable office and retail space. The projects are adjusted to demanding requirements of the LEED and BREEAM certificates to meet the highest standards in terms of their design and construction. 83% of all GTC assets have received a green certificate including 80% of office buildings and 87% of shopping malls. Those data proves the high engagement of the company in raising the sustainable attitude in the commercial real estate industry.

The office portfolio of GTC includes 41 buildings managed effectively to provide a comfortable modern space for tenants and achieve the most efficient results in terms of sustainable solutions. Most of the developments have been awarded green certificates which proves the GTC’s affords to reduce an impact of buildings to the environment.

The GTC strategy is based on three pillars: value-add acquisitions which provide tangible potential through re-letting and improvement of indicators such as occupancy and rental upside as well as converting ongoing projects into income-generating properties and selling non-core assets to unlock equity for new investments. This approach ensures a stable growth for the company and appeared to be a great solution to survive a stress test of the COVID-19 pandemic. An important aspect of the company's activities is the sustained-mindset and focus on ecological solutions which were introduced by GTC already a few years ago. Hence, 80% of all buildings have green certificates and meet stringent standards in the use of the highest quality materials and solutions to improve the quality of building use. GTC plans to continue this strategy as a responsible provider of commercial retail and office space in the CEE region.
