The Mayor supervises issues entrusted to the vice-mayors of the city and the Treasurer of the city, as well as those issues that are connected with the organization and functioning of the City Hall. What is more, the Mayor coordinates also among others the financial policy of the city, information and social communication policies, as well as economic programming and city strategy.

Mrs Hanna Zdanowska was born in Łódź where she graduated from the Polytechnic of Łódź. After graduation the Mayor was employed in companies that constructed settlements in the city - Retkinia and Radogoszcz, and also run her own company. For six years she was the director of the Lodz Chamber of Industry and Commerce. After winning the election in 2010 Mrs Zdanowska was sworn in as a president of Łódź, and chosen for the second term in 2014.
Biggest business achievements, especially those made last year
The successful process of revitalization that has been conducted in Łódź, among others within the frameworks of the Miasto Kamienic programme; the completion of East-West route in Łódź; the revitalization of EC-1 power plant and the New Centre of Łódź project.
Contributions made to the improvement of the CEE commercial property market
The New Centre of Łódź program, which is a part of the revitalization activities, is one of the biggest urban challenges that Łódź has been facing. The area of 100 ha in the strict city centre is going to be transformed into a safe and resident-friendly district combining different functions: office, residential, commercial and entertainment. The crucial element of the program is the new underground Łódź Fabryczna railway station. International investors such as Skanska and Ghelamco has already started construction of buildings in the NCŁ, but also other local investors such as Marjański Group with the investment "Fabryka Przedsiębiorczości" are active in the area.
