All the projects of Skanska are developed in compliance with the principles of sustainable development. Skanska’s office schemes confirm their water and energy efficiency, as well as the implementation of a wide range of exceptional green solutions. The company is continuously leading in advanced solutions to minimise the environmental footprint of its office projects and reduce their operating costs. Only recently the company’s new Wrocław project, Green Towers, was awarded the first LEED core and shell certificate at the highest ‘Platinum’ level in Poland. At the beginning of 2012, Skanska launched its flagship project - Atrium 1 in Warsaw. The building will be the greenest office building in Central and Eastern Europe due to cutting-edge sustainable technologies, including a geothermal system of heating and cooling featured only in a handful of office projects in Europe. Tenants of Atrium 1 will be able to save at least 50 pct on energy compared to standard buildings complying with local norms. Skanska also pays great attention to sharing knowledge and educates its tenants, showing them how best to profit from sustainable solutions.
