Skanska's commitment to sustainability is not just an element but the core of our business strategy, being reported from 1997. As validated by SBTi, o climate goals are science-based and aligned with the 1.5°C target set by the Paris Agreement. We aim for net-zero carbon emissions by 2045 and significant reductions by 2030. For the second consecutive year in June 2023 Skanska has been named “Climate Leader in Europe” on the prestigious ranking by the Financial Times and Statista. Our multi-stakeholder model allows us to work closely with communities, customers, and partners to co-create innovative, climate-smart solutions. Beyond constructing buildings, we aim to shape sustainable, resilient spaces and communities, fulfilling our collective responsibility to support healthy living for future generations. This integrated approach defines our leadership in sustainability, setting industry benchmarks and seizing opportunities within challenges.

The company ESG reporting mode (short description) As regulatory and societal demands increase, we want to meet those expectations responsibly by offering full transparency in accurate, relevant, and quality sustainability reporting. Skanska has been reporting on its environmental impact since 1997, until 2001 in the form of dedicated “Environmental reports”, between 2002 and 2018 in the form of “Sustainability reports” and since 2019 sustainability has been reported jointly with the annual report to demonstrate the strategic importance of this area.
