The latest extension of the Mars Poland chocolate factory, warehouse and distribution center achieved the prestigious LEED certificate at the Platinum level, scoring as many as 86 points. Among LEED Industrial Manufacturing buildings it achieved the highest score in Poland and the 5th worldwide. The Mars bldg. is located in Sochaczew. The production facility is manufacturing and delivering chocolate candies to more than 60 countries in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The investment was completed in 2015 and certified in Sept. of 2016. Noteworthy is the Energy and Atmosphere category 32/35 points. The factory is supplied by the on-site renewable energy plant that will generate green electricity and steam. Processes implemented in the plant involve state-of-the-art green technologies for anaerobic organic waste treatment, processing production and sanitation waste into green energy (with constant 24/7 consumption). Visio architects and consultants was leading the LEED certification.
