Brief information about the project from an architectural point of view:

The Małopolska Garden of Arts is to be a performance and multimedia arts centre and mediatheque. Although the official opening is planned for 19th October, the building has received the Janusz Bogdanowski Award for the best building constructed in Kraków in 2012. Although referred to by some as “the Kraków Pompidou Centre”, its architecture is modest and toned down. In this place, the cultural life of the Kraków’s young artistic set can blossom under a shared roof. Modern ballet, contemporary theatre forms, audio and video arts, concerts, and any other kind of artistic pursuit will find a home here. Together with the technical furnishing of the stage, the construction project cost app. PLN 47 mln, and was co-financed from EU funds as a part of the Małopolska Regional Operational Programme 2007–2013.
