Short information about architectural firm(s):

The studio was established in 1997 by architects Przemo Łukasik and Łukasz Zagała. The company is involved in architecture, urban planning, graphic and industrial design.

Brief information about the project from an architectural point of view: The main goal in designing Green Horizon was to make it fit in with the context and to provide the maximum flexibility of office space for future tenants. Due to requirements of the city of Łódź, the design team had to perform a precise analysis of the forms and proportions of the surrounding buildings. The context consists of such functions as residential, sacred, educational and the ruins of the former post-industrial factory on site. As a result, a building was created with a form, colour and details on the façade that corresponds to the existing functional and architectural structure. Strong emphasis was put on leaving a “trace” of the old factory. The signage system in the lobbies was based on the collected and reprocessed building material (according to plans and photos of the factory). Four info panels in central courtyard provide information about the historic character of the place, and a “trace” of the historical building will be imprinted on the courtyard’s floor.
