Bartosz Matusik, Partner, Head of DLA Piper's Tax team in Poland. He is an economist and licensed tax adviser, specialising in corporate income tax (CIT), personal income tax (PIT) and international tax law issues. He has extensive experience in planning domestic and international tax structures, as well as providing advice related to the tax aspects of restructuring processes and transfers of assets (real estate, receivables, and shares).

Advising METRO Properties, a real estate company from the METRO Group, on the sale and leaseback of five MAKRO Cash & Carry stores in Poland to FLE GmbH. METRO and MAKRO Cash & Carry will continue to manage all the assets on the basis of long-term lease agreements. The stores are located in Warsaw, Ząbki, Wrocław, Krakow and Lublin.
Advising Xcentric Hotels on the acquisition of a hotel property – comprehensive tax advice including tax structuring, tax due diligence, obtaining tax rulings, support in negotiations.
Advising a Kuwait investor during the sale of their first warehouse park in Poland to Savills Investment Management. The park is a project (approx. 46,000 sq. m.) located near Wrocław, developed by Panattoni Europe. Our advice included negotiation of the preliminary sale agreement, assistance in fulfilling the conditions precedent, negotiation of the final sale agreement and obtaining a tax ruling for the transaction.
