The company ESG reporting mode (short description)
The Corporate Carbon Footprint report presents the results of an initial baseline assessment, specifically focusing on the measurement of Greenhouse Gas emissions attributed to the organization's corporate activities. This assessment exclusively encompasses the emissions generated by MDC2 itself and excludes any footprint associated with projects under development. These aspects will be addressed in the upcoming comprehensive annual report, as well as in each subsequent annual ESG report.
Green certificates obtained for the investments developed or purchased by your company
MDC2’s base-case development standard is to construct all our projects certified to BREEAM New Construction Excellent.
MDC2 Park Gliwice, BREEAM New Construction Outstanding. Our other projects certified BREAAM New Construction Excellent include MDC2 Park Kraków South and MDC2 Park Łódź South.
The company activities in environmental protection
We aim to maximize biodiversity around our projects, to look after the health, safety and well-being of all users of our projects and our employees. Our warehouses feature market-leading ecological technical specifications and provide energy efficient solutions in order to minimize the carbon footprint of our buildings. This year we have financed the purchase of a 5,5 ha of natural forest in order to protect it from cutting and using for industrial forestry use.
The company activities in social responsibility
We have raised over PLN 500 000 for 11 different charities helping close to 1000 people. The charities included Ukraine Relief, the Children Orphanage in Szczutowo, Saving Kids with Cancer Foundation, Folkowisko Foundation, Daycare Center in Praga Północ, The Primary Sport School in Gdańsk, Gliwice Table Tennis Club, The Gliwice Intervention and Crisis Center, Forest Forever Foundation, Twarze Depresji Foundation, Zoja’s facial reconstruction surgery funding.
The company activities in the corporate governance issue
MDC2 ensures its management model is of the highest calibre in its operations. While there are no legal mandates necessitating a specific reporting system for the company, its business practices mirror those of publicly listed companies, ensuring the transparency of all processes. This represents an unprecedented approach within the Polish real estate market. The distinctive nature extends to the management structure, where an independent Board of Directors oversees the management board.
