The company ESG reporting mode (short description)
We are in the process of preparing for ESG reporting. The entire process will be led by an independent team of consultants and reporting will be done according to the GRI standard.
The due diligence process for Panattoni's entire European portfolio is currently underway. Among other things, CO2 measurements are being conducted to establish a baseline.
Green certificates obtained for the investments developed or purchased by your company
Between October 2020 and June 2022 Panattoni obtained 95 certificates, including 14 BREEAM Excellent. The certificates cover 7 buildings in the Czech Republic and Slovakia and 106 in Poland. Certified space totals 2.7 million sqm. There is a further 3.3 million sqm awaiting certification.
The company activities in environmental protection
The developer was the first in Poland to introduce BREEAM Excellent as a standard and achieved this level of certification for industrial investment. At the end of June, the certified space of Panattoni's facilities was 8 million sqm in Europe and 6 million in Poland.
The company aims to achieve carbon neutrality by reducing energy and water consumption (by half on average) and supporting the use of RES. The Świebodzin facility of nearly 200,000 sqm is equipped with 4,000 photovoltaic panels. In 2021, 250,000 mWh of green energy was supplied to the facilities with a total area of 3 million sqm. (125,000 tonnes of CO2 saved), in 2022 it will already be 312,000, saving 160,000 tonnes of CO2.
The realization of Panattoni's facilities is preceded by a building life cycle analysis (LCA) and the calculation of the total carbon footprint of the investment. During the design phase, we take into account emissions resulting from the building materials used. When selecting them, we are guided by the environmental certificates of the EMS group. Recycling on Panattoni's construction sites exceeds 90 per cent.
In 2021 alone, we planted 1,045 trees, 12,044 shrubs, over 400,000 sq m of lawn, 47,000 sq m of flower meadows, set up 57 insect hotels, numerous houses for invertebrates and birds, hedgehog boxes and beehives. We support electromobility (400 charging stations in 2021) and develop cycling infrastructure.
The company activities in social responsibility
This year, we took immediate action in the wake of the outbreak of war across the eastern border - we made free industrial space available to Ukrainian companies, enabling them to relocate their resources, and joined the #Property4Ukraine campaign. During the pandemic, we supported medical facilities - both financially and materially, including providing equipment worth PLN 500,000 to hospitals in Białystok, Szczecin, Poznań.
We are a sponsor of two football academies - Widzew Łódź and the Łukasz Piszczek BVB - a few weeks ago the Panattoni Arena sports facility was opened - a place where children's dreams come true. In addition, through its involvement in sports, its employees support organizations such as UNICEF and the Curie Institute. At the end of 2020, the company's employees joined the Robomania campaign. Their physical activity was converted into points. The company added up the number of points, doubled the number and donated the equivalent in PLN to UNICEF.
We support local communities by, among other things, creating the necessary road infrastructure in investment areas, building pavements or putting in bus stops. We also respond to other needs - e.g. by funding the renovation of wards in hospitals and health centres. In June the renovation and arrangement of the waiting room in the day psychiatric ward for children and young people in the Gdańsk Health Centre were completed, or by equipping a Sensory Integration office in one of the primary schools in Warcz.
