The company activities in environmental protection
REINO, a PLGBC member since 2018, pays special attention to asset management, green building and environmental aspects. Highest standards of the buildings have been awarded with several LEED, BREEAM and Fitwel certificates incl. first and the only building in Poland with double LEED Platinum (Malta House) and highest LEED EBOM score in Poland for Kapelanka 42B. We have developed its strategy of energy efficiency and sustainable building design. The strategy is implemented through asset management and by partnerships with companies analysing and reducing energy consumption. In recent years REINO has introduced PropTech solutions at held assets reducing energy usage up to 15%. We see a great potential in the sustainability approach for logistics. As developers do not pay much attention to energy optimisation, focusing rather on the halls’ appearance, we believe this leaves us a room for our experience. Recently, the first of the parks in our logistics portfolio - Logistic City, built in 2007 - was awarded a BREEAM In-Use Excellent and Very Good. We believe that there is a gap for aware investors to improve logistics assets increasing their sustainability and at the same time reducing operating costs. This applies mainly to water usage and collection, light control, energy control and reduce on which we particularly focus. We also implement biodiversity, insects hotels and birdhouses in order to make our properties in tune with the surrounding nature.

REINO employs local contractors to understand and reply better to the needs of local environment and communities. REINO engages itself in educational initiatives in terms of raising the environmental knowledge level and to strengthen communities’ natural capacity for development and resilience. We engage in charity activities: during the Ukrainian conflict we provided some equipment to ensure safe shelters for refugees and help them maintain dignity in the war circumstances. REINO has created a program for a portfolio of its assets called 'REINO Without Barriers'. We plan to certify all office buildings within the framework of the ‘Building Without Barriers’ of the Integration Foundation. We want our buildings to be accessible to everyone regardless of disabilities or limitations. We have now obtained certificates for Kapelanka 42B and Malta House buildings.
