Maciej Dyjas has been a Co-owner and Managing Partner of Griffin Real Estate since 2014. He has gained management experience in the consulting company Wandel & Goltermann Hewlett Packard Systems in EU and the US, and as managing partner and CEO at Eastbridge Group, a Luxembourg-based private investment fund that manages over EUR 1.5 billion in assets related to retail, consumer goods, and real estate. Parallel to his functions at Eastbridge, he held several positions at companies controlled by the Group, including positions of CEO of NFI EMF, listed at WSE or CEO of DTH Capital, New York real estate company. In 2014, Eastbridge Group, held assets worth over USD 3 billion in the retail, consumer goods, and real estate sectors in CEE, EU and the US.

Since 2014, Maciej Dyjas is a Co-owner and Managing Partner of Griffin Real Estate – the largest and most active investment management company in a private equity real estate in Central & Eastern Europe which currently manages assets of over EUR 5 billion. He also is a shareholder and holds a position of Managing Partner of Cornerstone Partners – a private equity investment firm, active in CEE region, with an impressive track record of transactions in healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors, retail and consumer goods, industrial, manufacturing and infrastructure market. Maciej also holds a position of Supervisory Board Member in several companies: Echo Investment, EPP, Smyk Group, ProService Finteco, Murapol Group and Avenga (formerly IT Kontrakt)

Before joining Griffin Real Estate and Cornerstone Partners, he was a Managing Partner and CEO of Eastbridge Group – a family holding company based in Luxembourg which has been investing in multiple markets (CEE, Benelux, US) and diverse industries such as real estate, consumer products, media, retail, education, insurance and biotechnology. Between 1994–2014, Maciej held various top managerial positions in companies belonging to Eastbridge Group: acting CEO of DTH Capital, New York, Director at Immobel Belgium, CEO of EM&F Holding, Director of Centrum Development & Investments, CEO of Domy Towarowe Centrum, CEO of Empik. At the earlier stage of his career, he held several positions in consulting in IT, manufacturing and supply chain industry in Europe and US.

He holds degrees in Mathematics, IT and Management from the University of Warsaw and the University of Stuttgart.

Since 2014, Maciej Dyjas has been a member of the Board of Directors of Jan Karski Educational Foundation, as well as – since 2011 – a member of the Polish Business Roundtable (Polska Rada Biznesu).

Between 1999 and 2009, he was an active member of ”Poland for Europe” program and a non-profit organization which aimed to support Poland’s membership in the European Union, through promotion of Polish art and culture in Europe.

Maciej Dyjas manages the company with an impressive track-record of transactions in real estate with significant impact for the whole sector. During the years of operation in Poland, Griffin has grown into an important global player that attracts international investors, even those who are new to the Polish market.

Griffin Real Estate in the May 2019 – February 2020 period was responsible for four acquisitions of platforms with total GAV EUR 1.5 billion.
• Acquisition of 56% stake in Echo Investment by Wing. Wing cooperated closely with Griffin Real Estate in the course of transaction and as a result Griffin Real Estate has become a co-investor and co-manager of Echo Investment.
• Acquisition of 46.5% stake in European Logistics Investment (ELI) by Madison International Realty. Griffin Real Estate set up ELI platform together with Redefine, it expands, with the new investor that Griffin Real Estate attracted. As part of the business plan, the parties aim to further grow the portfolio over the next years to create the leading Polish logistic platform.
• Acquisition of 98.04% stake in Murapol by Ares Management and Griffin Real Estate. Griffin Real Estate is a partner, together with Ares, manages the Murapol Group.
• Acquisition of Student Depo by Kajima Corporation and Griffin Real Estate. The business was originally set up by Griffin Real Estate and Oaktree in 2015 has evolved to become the largest owner and operator of PBSA in Poland, and is the fastest growing provider in the country. Griffin Real estate attarcted a new investor and still manages the platform.

Griffin Real Estate, thanks to its Managing Partners became a company, which is a trendsetter looking for new trends and areas worth investing and being not afraid to make a foray. Maciej Dyjas, together with management team of Griffin Real Estate established many various innovative platforms such as Student Depot - Poland’s leading student housing developer and operator or Resi4Rent - the first residential-for-rent platform in Poland. Maciej Dyjas is an co-architect of the company, which shapes the Polish real estate market by exploring it and ‘thinking outside the box’ for the last decade. He has been an author of the largest single deals that set new records. The Echo Investment acquisition was the largest real estate transaction in CEE, and the largest transaction in Europe recorded that year. GPRE’s stock market debut was the second-largest listing on the WSE recorded that year, and one-billion-euro-worth M1 deal was the third-largest deal of the year globally. All the milestones made Griffin Real Estate the largest and the most dynamic investment manager in the CEE with over EUR5 billion assets under management.
