Trei Real Estate Poland

Jacek is managing the Polish unit of Trei Real Estate since 2016. His main responsibility in this position has been the development of Trei’s small retail format brand called Vend Park. At the beginning the aim of the company was to develop and commission for use about 3-4 projects per year to establish a portfolio of 40 Vendo Parks in Poland. Retail parks have been gaining more popularity among tenants so in 2020 Trei plans seven facilities and intends to maintain this level of delivered projects per year into the future. Jacek is also leading the team responsible for residential developments in Poland. These activities were inaugurated in 2019 with a housing estate development in Wrocław.

Trei Real Estate Poland is a part of Trei Real Estate GmbH, headquarter in Düsseldorf (Germany). The company invests, develops and manages tailor-made and sustainable residential and retail properties in Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Portugal and the USA.

Under the Vendo Park brand, Trei builds and leases retail parks in Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. A total of 29 facilities have already been built, 19 of which have been developed by Trei Real Estate Poland and kept in the company’s portfolio. The company manages a total of 125 retail facilities in Poland.

Since 2019 Trei is also active on Polish residential market. Currently the company has two housing developments under construction, in Wrocław and Łódź, which will provide a total of 773 units. Further plans of Trei Residential unit include development projects in Poznań and Warsaw. In total, Trei will build 1,600 units in Poland within the four planned housing estates.

Trei Real Estate Poland has developed retail parks in 19 different cities across Poland. However the assets from the company's portfolio, including 103 Biedronka shops, are located in more than 90 cities. Residential activity is currently held in Łódź and Wrocław. The Trei Real Estate Poland team, managed by Jacek, includes almost 50 professionals.

"Jacek has 30 years of experience in retail, office and residential real estate. He was one of the initiators of the shopping center format in Poland. Until now he’s built more than 60 retail facilities, and the companies he’s managed have been recognized with numerous sector awards in Poland and abroad.

In 1990 he co-founded and managed Polinvest, the developer of the first downtown shopping center in Poland – KLIF in Gdynia. Ten years later, together with a Danish partner, he founded IRES, the developer which built 15 convenience facilities in Poland, then sold to Immofinanz and Jacek co-managed its Polish branch, being responsible for the development business. Under his leadership the company built Stop Shop Parks, Vivo centers, Tarasy Zamkowe in Lublin and Silesia shopping center in Katowice.

Since 2016 he’s been a Managing Director of Trei Real Estate Poland, where he is responsible for strategic decisions concerning investments and building the company’s real estate portfolio.

In 2019 Trei opened five Vendo Parks in Bytów, Ostrołęka, Pułtusk, Łask and Kobyłka, which provided a total of over 18,000 sqm of modern retail space. The company allocated over EUR 25 million to new projects, thus almost doubling the investment volume year on year.

In 2020, Trei achieved a growth rate of seven commissioned facilities per year and intends to maintain this level into the future. The strategy is to invest in small towns, with a well-thought out tenant mix. Trei’s offer brands the opportunity to make their debut in the markets they enter with their Vendo Parks.

In 2019 the developer entered the residential market in Poland, starting with a housing project in Wrocław and continuing the expansion in Łódź this year, and planning further projects in Poznań and Warsaw.

Jacek is an active ambassador of small retail formats. In 2019, Trei published the first ever report on the retail park sector in Poland, initiating a project of annual independent summaries published in cooperation with advisory companies. This year the report ""Retail parks and convenience centers in Poland"" was issued in cooperation with JLL.

Faced with the COVID-19 pandemic, Jacek was one of the initiators and representatives of the community of retail park owners operating in Poland in talks with tenants. Since April, negotiations have been held with 38 chains and companies which operate over 900 stores in more than 200 locations across the country. This initiative helped to develop individual solutions, tailored to the financial condition of the companies. Thanks to these solutions, by the end of May, all retail parks in the country were already reopened.
