Winner of 'I Help More' (Pomagam Bardziej) at Krakow Business Run for 6th consecutive year
On September 8th 2019, for the 6th year in a row, Leach & Lang Property Consultants took part in the Krakow Business Run. For the 6th year in a row, Leach & Lang won the ‘’I Help More’’ (‘’Pomagam Bardziej’’) award for collecting the most money for charity. This year the amount Leach & Lang raised was a total of 29,368 PLN – enough not only to win 1st place on the podium with our ‘’Leach & Run’’ team (22,747 PLN) but also to claim 3rd place too via our ‘’Leach & dRUNk’’ team (6,721 PLN).
In our previous 5 years of attending the event our combined teams had managed to raise anything between 12,000 and 20,000 PLN but this year the competition was more fraught than ever and all friends, families and clients were urged to donate to make sure we were the number one donator to the Krakow Business Run cause which endeavours to provide prosthetic limbs for those in need and to help them adjust through rehabilitation.
With over 5,000 teams taking part this year, the competition to win was more difficult than ever and the number of beneficiaries of prosthetic limbs will have benefited even more from all donations raised during the event. As we say ‘we run so that others may walk’. As a company of around 50 employees, it is no mean feat for Leach & Lang to raise more than some of the gigantic firms in the Krakow outsourcing business who may employ up to 100 times as many staff but all staff are focussed on the charity and take the challenge seriously.
There are several other charities and events we support on an annual basis such as ‘Le Cure’ (bike-riding in the Alps to raise funds to help to find a cure to cancer) and EYC (a Cambodian charity based in Phnomh Penh which provides rudimentary education for Khmer youngsters) but by far and away the closest to home and most tangible charity we are able to support on the ground every year as a team is via the Krakow Business Run.
This is not to say it is all serious – group training, the camaraderie on the day itself and the taste of success (as well as the taste of a cold beer after the run) are all thoroughly enjoyed by the team. And the running times are not bad either ? – this year for the 19km route (a 5-person relay * 3.8km each) we clocked up times of 1:29:48 and 1:30:35 for the two teams.
