Major improvement for smoother and safer traffic in Magnice

Built on the national road No. 8 in Magnice near Wrocław, a turbine roundabout replaced an ineffective and dangerous intersection with traffic lights, which for years had been one of the most congested places in Poland.

Construction began in November 2021 and was fully financed and executed by GLP. The investment was delivered in accordance with the GLP strategy of providing local communities with good infrastructure solutions for pedestrians and drivers in the vicinity of the company's logistics parks.

One of the traffic lanes on the roundabout was put into use in spring 2022, and the entire investment was ready by the end of the year, including two traffic lanes and additional lanes to bypass the roundabout, as well as lighting and greenery.

15,000 tons of bitumen, 40,000 tons of crushed stone aggregate, and 70,000 tons of sand were used to build the roundabout. The contractor also rebuilt 2 kilometers of optical fibers, 2 kilometers of medium voltage lines, and 200 meters of water pipes.

Today, the new road infrastructure in Magnice benefits the local residents, those in transit, as well as companies that operate in the GLP logistics centre nearby, being a perfect example of successful cooperation between a private investor and a local government.
