Wbiegnij na Varso Tower – charitable sport event
Wbiegnij na Varso Tower (Varso Tower Run) is a race up the stairs to the roof of the tallest building the EU. The event organized by HB Reavis under the honorary patronage of the Mayor of Warsaw supports people affected by the war in Ukraine. The organizers donated 40,000 PLN in 2022 and another 40,000 PLN in 2023 to the Polish Humanitarian Action. Apart from attracting new visitors, the charitable event is an opportunity for building a sense of community among participating employees of Varso Tower’s office tenants.
The runners must climb 1,400 stairs leading to the 53rd floor of Varso Tower. At the finishing line each participant receives a commemorative medal and enjoys the breathtaking skyline views, even before the viewing platform opens to the public. Results also count toward the Towerrunning World Association ranking.
In 2022, around 600 sport enthusiasts, world-class athletes and invited guests including celebrities and the Foster + Partners architect competed in the challenge. The winner reached the height of 230 meters above ground in just 7 minutes and 27 seconds.
In 2023 the second edition of the sporting event attracted more than 700 participants willing to run up the stairs of Varso Tower for the first time or challenged to beat their previous route record. The winner beat last year’s record, reaching the top in 6 minutes and 45 seconds.
