Short information about architectural firm(s) : |
JEMS Architects was founded in 1988. The team though, had been working together since the early 80’s. Starting up as an independent practice at a time of democratic change in Poland, JEMS joined the push for the restoration of a Polish architectural culture. The cooperation of the partners matured in an office/workshop formula, offering an inspiring space for an exchange of a variety of ideas. |
Brief information about the project from an architectural point of view: |
The proposal bases on creating a closed quarter of office buildings featured with two open – semi public courtyards. These courtyards will be joined in one space on the ground floor level – this is where the most of the commercial functions of the devel-opment will be located. The proposed development incorporates two internal courtyards which will be con-nected by a wide passage on the ground floor level. The entrances for this space will be situated in the corners of the complex in the proximity of the office space entrance halls. These courtyards should serve as public passages connecting different public zones located around the development. The interior of the courtyards will contain elements of small architecture - characteristic for small, urban public spaces. |
