The company ESG reporting mode (short description)
We are undertaking a materiality assessment which will provide a high-level baseline of MDC2’s environmental and social footprint. We will use a combination of company information, publicly available sources and previous experience to frame a position paper that will set out a number of options for board discussion.
The work will also deliver a supporting document that frames the baseline within the context of external dynamics and potential market trends. This document will support the proposed road map and action plan which we will also develop in due course. This will be designed around timelines which attach to our existing MDC2 commercial strategy and expectations relating to other stakeholder/investor commitments. Through the road map and action plan, we will be able to address a combination of operational issues, supply chain engagement and market messaging.
Green certificates obtained for the investments developed or purchased by your company
MDC2 Park Gliwice is aimed to be the highest scored buidling in terms of BREEAM certification points in Poland. The project is aiming at BREEAM New Construction Excellent certificate.
The company activities in environmental protection
- Forest Forever - we committed to invest in 1 sqm of forest per 1 sqm of GLA. By supporting the Forest Forever foundation (Las Na Zawsze) we are able to support bio-diverse deciduous forest in Poland. The entire aquired forest will be preserved in its natural state.
- We make sure that our warehouse properties and distribution centers: feature market-leading ecological technical specification, i.e. photovoltaic panels as standard equipment, electric vehicle charging points, rainwater recycling/collection system; outdoor relaxation and wellbeing zones and a biodiversed landscaping surrounding our buildings.
The company activities in social responsibility
- Ukraine Relief Association - established in June 2022 it is the non-profit organization set up by the team members of MDC2 helping Polish families with lower income who host Ukrainian refugees in their homes.
- Orphanage in Szczutowo (Kujawsko-Pomorskie area) - long term support of children's needs living in the orphanage, i.e. Christmas presents; financing vacation trip for all kids; ongoing cooperation and support which hopefully will allow the children to self sustain and live happy lives.
- Dom Samotnej Matki na Białołęce - support for ad hoc needs i.e. financing a garden furniture for their gardern
- Public Daycare Centre on Praga Północ - fullfilling ad hoc needs i.e. financing a playstation device for the center or getting new furniture for the facility.
