Since 2016, Katarzyna Zawodna-Bijoch is CEO at Skanska’s commercial development unit in CEE. Starting from February 2020, she has been leading the newly appointed centralized senior leadership in the CEE region. Under her leadership, the unit has been developing extensively, holding a leadership position among regional developers. Currently running portfolio of 450 000 sqm. Since 2016, the company has leased over 630 000 sqm of futureproof office space, has sold 25 buildings for over EUR1.4 bln.

Skanska has been performing well despite the COVID-19 reality – managed to maintain work on its projects, conducted big transactions: divestment of Generation Park Z to Deka Immobilien, completing two investment deals: transaction with Credit Suisse, and with JR AMC (first direct deal with a Korean investor) on Nordic Light Trio in Budapest, followed by signing the biggest in the history of the Polish office market leasing agreement (47 000 sqm) with PZU Group in Generation Park Y. Skanska has also presented fast and complex response to the pandemic -"Care for Life Office Concept" - adjusting offices to the safety and hygiene procedures, based on Skanska’s core value – care for life – and touchless solutions. Skanska is now one of the first to receive the WELL Health-Safety Rating created during the pandemic for its 9 projects in CEE. Between Oct 2019 and Sep 2020, Skanska delivered 167 000 sqm. of the modern office space and another 178 000 sqm. is under construction.
