Michal Jurka is the Business Unit President of Skanska Central Europe, a BU merging construction operations in Poland (Skanska S.A) and Czech Republic and Slovakia (Skanska CZ). He’s been with the company for 17 years and come from a position of BUP of Skanska’s Czech and Slovak construction operations. Formerly the EVP of Skanska Poland. Before joining Skanska Poland in May 2016, he worked for Skanska Czech Republic and Slovakia, as a change leader for the risk management in the business unit.

Skanska S.A. is the part of the Skanska Group, established in 1887. We’re a leading construction company and the only contractor of Skanska’s office and residential projects in Poland. We act according to the principles of sustainable development, caring for the future needs of communities. We focus on how our projects will affect the life of people and the country’s development in the long-term. Skanska S.A. acts according to “City Builder” strategy. Our aim’s to concentrate business in large urban areas, increase involvement in the implementation of complex projects as well as maintain cooperation within other units from the Group. We focus on locations and segments with the greatest potential for long-term growth and projects that yield the biggest profits. We operate in seven major Polish cities: Warsaw, Poznan, Lodz, Krakow, Wroclaw, Gdansk and Katowice. We also focus on the contracts providing added value for business partners and communities.

We’re the leader of office buildings’ construction in Polish regional cities, contributing highly to their development. We focus on seven major Polish cities – Warsaw, Poznan, Lodz, Krakow, Wroclaw, Gdansk and Katowice – and our buildings were the first in Poland to be LEED Platinum certified. We want to actively develop the domestic real estate market, launching modern technologies and global solutions. We use a wide range of new technologies: cloud based site logistic management, object tracking trough supply chain, drones and mobile apps. Skanska, as the first general contractor in Poland, has implemented the BIM 360 tool set at construction sites and is one of BIM leaders on the Polish market. We are one of co-founders and partners of the ‘Agreement for Safety in Construction’ – an initiative of the 12 biggest general contractors in Poland.
