The most important projects implemented between October 2016 and September 2017 are:
- Reconstruction of the downtown area of Katowice City - Stage IV - Development of Central Square - Building C-4, which has been rented to a restaurant.
- Construction of a road system in the area of Ceglana and Kosciuszki Street;
- Reorganisation of the rain water system from the catchment area of the Zgrzebnioka estate in Katowice;
- Preparation of land for residential investment in the area of Książęca Street- Franciszkańskie Residential;
- Preparation of land for residential investment at Sławka Street - stage II;
- A water playground for children in the Valley of the Three Ponds;
- Land development for recreational functions at Smugowa Street.
Major projects planned for 2018
•Katowice Intelligent Transport Management System - the project aims to implement sustainable mobility in Katowice and improve the functioning of the whole transport system.
•New tram line - one of the most important investments in Katowice. Over 5 km route, 8 new stops, 20 min. to the city center.
•Stadium – new stadium with over 12 thousand seats and a few football pitches.
•Mikołowska Hall – sports and entertainment hall. The project also covers the develop of area around the hall, assembly of small architecture, construction of parking places, lighting and fencing of the area.
•Silesian Innovation Center - science center with four exhibition rooms and thematic studios.
•Business incubator - a place to develop innovative projects and to collaborate, share knowledge and experiences.
•Tylna Mariacka and Dworcowa Street – reconstruction of the Dworcowy Square, arranged in relaxation areas and parking places in Tylna Mariacka Street.
Major current projects
Katowice Integrated Interconnection System By the end of 2019, four interchanges will be established. The aim of the project is to develop environmentally-friendly and low-carbon urban transport systems and to promote sustainable mobility. Swimming pools Two of three swimming-pools are under construction. All should be completed by 2019. What is more, a new sports hall will be built at Kościuszki Street. Development of road infrastructure: reconstruction/extension The Project implementation will last from 2017 to 2020 and will cost PLN 400 million. The second investment includes extension of a section of national road with the construction of a two-level collision-free diamond interchange, with the so-called two-lane “turbo roundabout”, enabling access to A4 motorway. The investment will be completed in 2017-2019. Katowice Bicycle Infrastructure. In 2016, a basic network of cycling routes in the city was expanded and now it’s over 110 km bicycle routes.

The financial resources for investments are: EU funds, own resources, funds from the European Investment Bank and the Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB). In the last 5 years, finance for investments from these sources amounted to: • 2013 – PLN 286.160.570,10 • 2014 – PLN 482.059.950,02 • 2015 – PLN 184.776.823,24 • 2016 – PLN 32.104.014,17 • 2017 – PLN 26.071.188,71 (on 30th September, 2017).

At present the City of Katowice is implementing 38 projects within the financial framework 2014-2020. The total value of the projects is PLN 924,5 million.

Employment support – support in recruiting process in co-operation with the local academic centers and the Poviat Labor Office.

Public transportation adjustment - public transport network (bus stops or new bus lines) can be adjusted to satisfy needs of an investor.
Real estate tax exemption – tax exemption from real property tax (within the framework of de minimis assistance).
Support for developers - Katowice can support in investment procedures or can improve communication service within road construction or construct technical infrastructure.
Katowice Special Economic Zone - offers CIT relief based either on investment costs or two-year labor costs for new jobs created.

•Human potential: access to over 2.2 million people;
•Katowice is an important academic, cultural and economic center in this part of the country. There are 20 universities in the region with over 90,000 students.
•Location at the cross-roads of two important trans-European transport corridors;
•Access to 3 international airports;
•In 2017, planned inflows to the city budget are estimated for PLN 1.8 billion and total expenditures are forecasted for PLN 2 billion, of which 21.5% for investment projects, Katowice sub-region may also be proud of its GDP growth of 1.9% (2013-2014) and low, unemployment rate – 2.3% in Katowice at the end of September 2017.
•The city is a place of great events. The city created the Culture Zone with facilities such as the Spodek (a sports and entertainment hall) and the International Congress Center, which together can accommodate 26,000 people at the same time. The City of Katowice has obtained the prestigious title of the UNESCO City of Music.

• ECHO INVESTMENT S.A. – shopping mall “Libero”. It is under construction on a plot of 54,000 sqm. It will offer 45,000 sqm of commercial and entertainment space located on 3 levels.
• ATAL S.A. – “Atal Francuska Residential”, IV stage.
• MURAPOL S.A. - “Murapol Nowy Bażantów Residential”.
• ACTIV INVESTMENT Sp. z o.o. – “4 Towers Residential” – IV stage.
• BREMA Sp. z o.o. – Brema Office Building has six storeys above ground level and one underground with parking spaces. Office space is 6,225 sqm.
