Since May 2019, Michał Matera has been a partner and Head of RE practice in Allen & Overy’s Warsaw office. In his practice, he focuses on various aspects of commercial real estate transactions, including divestments and acquisitions, sale and lease-back, joint ventures and asset management. He advises on real estate aspects of financing, restructuring and insolvency projects. He is a Member of Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and acts as a mentor in the ULI Poland Mentorship Programme.

Our recent experience includes advising:
- Goodman European Partnership and Goodman Group on the sale of their assets in Central and Eastern Europe to GLP for approx. EUR1bn. The transaction includes properties located in Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. It was the biggest transaction on the logistics market in CEE in 2020.
- Ghelamco, a leading office developer in Poland, on the sale of its Wołoska 24 office building in Warsaw to ZFP Investments.
- AEW on the sale of a prime logistics park portfolio in Poland, with a total area of 208,992 sqm, to Polish Logistics LLP.
- Echo Investment on the sale of the Warsaw Brewery complex to two international investment and asset managers - Deka Immobilien and KGAL GmbH & Co. KG. The transaction included sale of Malthouse Offices and the historic Malthouse to Deka Immobilien, and Villa Offices to KGAL GmbH & Co. KG.
Participation in development projects between October 2020 and June 2022
- 7R on a development management agreement with Gazeley (member of GLP Group) in relation to the logistics park known as Lodz East.
- KION Group, a global leader in logistics, on the conclusion of a development management agreement with Panattoni for the construction of a production facility near Szczecin.
