Why the company should be considered for this award:	Due to its concern for the long term welfare of the environment, GTC is placing increasingly greater stress on the sustainable and pro-ecological nature of its properties. The construction and technical solutions applied in GTC’s office buildings are studied to achieve significantly increased working comfort without harming the environment. This approach includes such features as the maximum use of natural light, the highest ratios of fresh air via state-of-the-art, individually controlled heating and air conditioning systems, and the use of efficient, energy-saving insulation. Since 2010, GTC’s office projects have been built in compliance with standards defined by the USGBC, enabling them to meet the requirements for prestigious LEED certification. Since July 2012, GTC can boast obtaining a LEED ‘Gold’ for core and shell certificate for its Corius building. This is only the second facility in Poland with this certificate, which covers all stages of the development process, including the choice of location, design and construction work, as well as the implementation of planned solutions. Selected GTC projects have also successfully applied for the EU GreenBuilding certificate, awarded to investors who undertake to raise standards of energy efficiency and the use of energy from renewable sources. This certificate has already been awarded to University Business Park and Francuska Office Centre. Under the requirements for certification, the buildings use at least 25 pct less energy than a typical office building.
