The idea of the camp was shaped in coordination with the EY Foundation and the ITEM Psychological Center. EY Foundation is the benefactor and coordinator of logistics and administration of the camps. The team of specialist consists of psychologists, educators, physiotherapists and psychiatrists. In 2014 av. over 30 children (in the years 2002-2014 over 375 children) under the age of 12 and their parents have benefited from the help. Children with FASD are predominantly raised in family-based foster homes. Due to lack of alternative support programs for other children with FASD in Poland, we also take care of children placed in foster families. Effects of the work: better child development, improved functioning of children at home and at school, parents’ increased awareness of the problem, better functioning of children & parents, correction of children’s undesired behaviors and protection against derivative disorders, changes in emotional regulations related to attachment.
