The most important projects completed between October 2017 and September 2018 City of Lublin prepared a project of revitalisation of the Downtown District in the City Centre, including Krakowskie Downtown pedestrian mall to Litewski Square - the most significant public square in Lublin. The city invested also in the development of road infrastructure - Mazowieckiego Avenue – which is important alternative route for Krasnicka Avenue which has big traffic jams in rush hours. This roads are very important for inhabitants from biggest residential districts in southern part of Lublin. Thanks to both avenues it is possible to easily access internal and external by-pass. Lublin also constructed new city park (Zawilcowa). At former garbage dump Lublin made a one of the biggest city parks – with fully-green areas and infrastructure for whole families. This is a great example of possible way to restore degraded land to city inhabitants.
Major projects planned for 2019 Construction of Lublin intermodal metropolitan station in Lublin. It is planned to be located in the vicinity of new business and leisure infrastructure such as City Stadium and Fair and Exhibition Center. Moreover, it is planned in an immediate neighborhood of the Lublin Railway Station and the two are to be integrated into a major transportation hub, often referred to as Intermodal Metropolitan Station. Therefore, it is pictured as the main point of interconnection for the passengers travelling to, from and via Lublin. On one hand, it will allow to gather all forms of transportation under one roof and facilitate passenger tra¬c. On the other hand, it will regenerate the derelict area of Railway Station surroundings thus rendering them attractive for traders, businesspeople and other kinds of stakeholders seeking new opportunities. It will above all be exceptionally well-connected with both city center and city suburbs which is a rare case in other locations.
