DESCRIPTION OF THE ENTRY INTO THE POLISH MARKET Selina chose Poland as one of the first European markets, where we want to introduce the Selina's brand, due to the great potential of this country. We are interested in big cities such as Warsaw, Krakow, Wroclaw, Poznan, Gdańsk, Sopot, Zakopane, Szczecin. We want to obtain flagship properties in city centres with about 200-500 beds.
THE ORIGINS OF THE COMPANY AND HOW IT STARTED OUT In 2007, co-founders Rafi and Daniel arrived in Pedasi, a small fishing town in Panama City. Falling in love with the location for its surfing, fishing and diving, the duo saw its potential and opened the town’s first coffee shop, which was soon converted into a restaurant due to local demand. When friends started coming to visit and didn’t have anywhere to stay, Rafi and Daniel opened a boutique hotel. It was soon followed by a bakery, a tourist centre, and then a wine bar. Tourism to the region increased exponentially, and Rafi and Daniel’s idea for Selina was born.
To test the idea, Rafi and Daniel travelled the world over the space of one year, staying in more than 120 hotels, hostels and houses looking for a consistent offering that allowed them to meet new people, experience new cultures and seamlessly live and work anywhere.
Inspired by their experience, they set out to create a hospitality concept that catered to a new generation of travellers.
HOW MUCH THE COMPANY HAS INVESTED IN ENTERING THE POLISH MARKET So far about 1,8 million Euro
WHAT DIFFERENTIATES THE COMPANY’S PRODUCTS/SERVICES FROM THEIR COMPETITORS? We’re built for a mindset that is only going to continue to develop as our society embraces new ways of travelling and building community. We know that people travel today hoping to meet somebody new, to learn something new, to interact with a new community. That’s why we deliver everything from accomodations to food and beverage, to content/culture like workshops, talks, music, wellness, co-working and much more. Our properties are entire ecosystems that are fed by the community of travellers who stop by. We’re more than a vacation - we’re a way of life

We are connecting people all around a globe, offering a new way of travel, work, experience, explore and live.
NOTABLE ACHIEVEMENTS TO DATE We’ve proven our model, now it’s time to grow with a velocity rarely seen in the hospitality industry. We’ll continue to build on our North American and European development efforts.
Up to date, we have 29 properties in 9 countries (Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Colombia, Costa Rica, Panama, Peru, Ecuador, Portugal)
And we are going to finish 2018 with 40 opened locations targeting 10.000 beds including openings in new countries like Brazil, USA (Miami), Bolivia and Argentina.
PLANS FOR THE FUTURE / EXPANSION PLANS and information on how they have been pursued so far In 2022 we plan to have more than 54.000 beds globally with more than 200 locations around the world. We already opened our first of many European locations and we have under development in Poland, Hungary, Israel, Greece.
As for the end of 2018, we are targeting 10.000 beds with new opening in Brasil, Bolivia, Argentina, Colombia, Perú, Costa Rica and USA (Miami)
